Dawn Mattocks is an accomplished Makeup Artist and emerging Visual Artist based in Oakland County, Michigan but with roots in Los Angeles. She has a distinguished career working with high-profile clients and agencies for red carpet and campaign work, and she is known for crafting high-performance makeup looks designed to meet the demands of HD and professional lighting. Her background includes extensive experience as a Photo Assistant, which informs her understanding of visual aesthetics and composition. She has recently shifted her creative energy into Fine Art and now works in watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media, and she creates expressive, intuitive pieces for personal exploration and public exhibition. She is a member of several art organizations, including the Lawrence Street Gallery in Ferndale, the Michigan Watercolor Society, the Women’s Council for the Arts, and the Detroit Society of Women’s Painters & Sculptors. Her work has been exhibited a the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and Lawrence Street Gallery. She studied at the Otis College of Design, the Art Center College of Design, California State University Long Beach, UCLA Extension, and other respected institutions.
