I learned to draw and paint by taking courses with artist Robert Rathbone in the late 1970’s and 1980’s, and I took a year of art courses at Northern Michigan University. Later, however, I became a nurse and, until recently, my art was secondary to mothering my three children and working as a nurse.  Once my last child left home, I began painting again.

I paint places, people and things that hold meaning for me. I paint everyday scenes that are beautiful to my eye. I try to highlight the soul of the scene with a bright pallette.  I have been working mostly in acrylic, watercolor, and pen. I would like to do more portraits in the future. I have recently applied for a few calls for art, most recently at the Detroit Fine Arts Breakfast Club holiday show, where I sold two paintings.
