          Biography

           Constance Powell, a Detroit area artist, works in both abstract and realistic styles. Her mixed-media paintings
           and collagraphs are abstract in concept with strong emphasis on design, color and texture. In contrast, her
           black and white or hand-colored prints of pen and ink studies depict scenes in the Great Lakes area and
           beyond. These drawings of historic and contemporary scenes, are realistic in style with careful attention to
           detail and perspective. 

           Originally from New England and a graduate of prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, she has continued
           her studies in Michigan at Wayne State University, the Center for Creative Studies and the BIrmingham
           Bloomfield Art Association.

           Her works have been purchased by innumerable private collectors both in United States and abroad. Most
           notably by General Motors Corporation, Henry Ford Hospital, Michigan Bell Telephone, The State Bar of Michigan,
           Maccabees Life Insurance Co., Campbell Ewald and many more.

           She has exhibited in many juried and invitational art shows and galleries and has won innumerable awards;
           Including several best of shows.
